Love Poem: The Pain

The Pain

I can take the pain I don't need a bandage or a cure
I can take the pain, I've felt it all before
I no longer fear getting hurt, It's just another thing for me to overcome
I can take the pain so you'll never see me run

I've felt so much in my life that I no longer feel it
When you're a realist you respect those who are real and don't compete over who's the realest
We're all different, and I'm comfortable even when in pain
I'll smile and be okay with an aching heart while I'm bleeding in my brain

My scars are on display What should I hide them for?
To make you comfortable? You want me to disguise them more?
I wasn't put on this earth to please you
I learned when you need them most Is when people will leave you

I should be afraid of love considering how much it's hurt me
Instead of thinking I'm not worthy of love, I believe it's not worth me
I got stronger from every fall, mistake, bruise and scar
The reason I'll end up winning is because I didn't lose my heart

I can take the pain I don't need a bandage or a cure
I can take the pain, I've felt it all before
I no longer fear getting hurt, It's just another thing for me to overcome
I can take the pain so you'll never see me run
