Love Poem: The Lovers

The Lovers

Tearful no more all my fear washed away Friend and lover as fleeting years do pass You are my constant you'll never be swayed Lightly we tread on our life's chosen path. Beloved you looked and I was fallen Alone no more like an eagle did fly Keeper of my heart never crestfallen We lived and loved never questioning why. Our mortality was not in question When mortal coil unravels please be there Dying I expect no intervention Hold my hand tightly so I am aware. Now together we lie carved in cold stone Decades pass swiftly whilst we do atone.
