The Love of a Mom

The love of my life
is not a husband or any other man.
It’s not a dog, cat or pet,
nor any stranger whom I’ve met,
nor the result of any scheme or plan.

The love of my life
came to me clad in only a name.
Who from the very start,
touched the corners of my heart,
so innocent, pure, no guilt, no shame.

The love of my life,
bonded with that first tiny move.
Adorned in faith of divine love and keeping,
came into my world weeping,
wanting me to love and approve.

The love of my life
will forever put me to the test.
It will never end even at the very last.
When all my life is in the past,
I’ll know my reward was to be so blessed.
