The Dark Side of Love
Love is not a game one can play to win or lose,
Love is a choice at times one will have to choose,
Love is no sure thing,
It has no guarantees,
It has no rules,
One must spin the wheel, roll the dice, and keep their fingers crossed like fools,
You see, love is not always fun,
It’s not always butterflies,
And it’s not always sun,
It can also cause one a source of great pain,
The type to have one wish everyday it would rain,
From that pain one must gain the strength to rise up,
To overcome,
To live and love again,
You cannot let the pain of lost love win,
So, stand to your feet,
Dry your eyes,
Wipe your chin,
Fix your face and flash a grin,
And remember to,
Think with your head,
Love with your heart,
And never let the dark side of love tear what’s destined to be, apart,
