Love Poem: Roses Upon the Water, Nine Eleven

Roses Upon the Water, Nine Eleven

Bells ring in silence, bowed heads of blue
Gleaming sliver and gold, no words for the grief
Thoughts shared, furrowed brows, tears
Dreams burnt away in the morning mist
Of unfulfilled promises, I have died for thee
Irreplaceable child, mournful minutes
Pass uncountable in my mind
Slow music plays answering list upon list
Death departed, foundation wrenched
Who will offer balm, peace for my son
Missed still one, lifeless pictured one
Lost, lost without parents roaming lonely nights
Grief filled minds, watching waiting praying
Roses float on water, drowning in a sea of tears
Hug, hold clasped hands, buried languished love
Faces indelibly written, remembering you is easy
Yesterday today everyday, heart ache in silence
You will never know, America was hurt today
Never healed, Lord shield, sweet as roses upon the water.
