MIDNIGHT'S TRYSTS

There are those who say the moon has no voice
That it hangs alone in icy silence
Mocked by the twinkling of jealous stars
A corpse illuminated by cold darkness

The Werewolves would argue in her defense
For without her they would know no passion
Feel not the surging power of the night
Wander through life’s fog strewn emptiness

No voice, does she not whisper to lovers
Ease the clumsy angst of untrained lips
Calm in silver light a fearful darkness
Allow a muffled passion’s gentle howl

Her voice the unheard song in shrouded mists
That nullifies the lies of midnight’s trysts
