Memory of Shydah

Shydah had the confidence of twenty
I was thrown off my cycle the second I saw her eyes
She laughed and climbed on the back
In a firm way, scooting close, and holding me
I had never been held like that before

The other guys were staring in disbelief
Out of all the clubs in all the world,
Shydah had not only picked ours, but
She had chosen me!
Much older, I enjoyed her hand, and her attention.
We took off on a summers’ day, for the best ride of my life

I gave her several outs that night.
I know I am much too old for her, a dog to even be thinking
But she would not take no for an answer
Showed me tricks that had me howling so loudly
The rest of the guys were snickering at me in the morning
I would have kept her forever,
but in the morning she was gone.
