Love Poem: Marriage

Marriage

That perfect ring
Made of gold
Slips from my finger
As the story unfolds.....
Thought that I had found
A love to last,
Escaped the demons
Of my past.
But pure evil
Is what I found
Not my long sought dream
Of a safer ground,
Endless pain
Seems to be my path;
Never learned how
To escape it's wrath.
So now
Here alone I sit
Stupidly lost
In this bottomless pit
And how I love
The way you manipulate
All your love
Now turns to hate
Crucifying me for
All your sins,
Leaving me tangled
In that web of lies
You live in.
And here is where
I don't want to be
Here is where I never thought
I'd find you and me,
Betrayal was once
A long forgotten friend
Making me believe
Someday soon I'd mend;
But those lies
Can't be laid to rest
Especially when they
Continue to infest.
And this love,
This perfect love
I thought would live
No longer has any give;
Picture perfect
Was this place
Picture perfect
Till I watched it erase.
Watched that picture perfect love
Turn cold
As you laid a new one
Out like a centerfold,
And now that
You want me back
Compassion is what I lack.
There is no love left
Here where hate breeds,
No place left
For your demon's to feed
I've turned my back
And fogotten you
Maybe it's time you do too.
