Love of Books, of Love

I loved, but failed
to win my love,
A book loved helped me
higher to move.

And ever since I wondered
what difference there be
Between loving my love
and a book if any.

Books illuminate,
We lead life in their light,
Love might well blindfold,
Push you in utter plight.

Books can be put aside
on turning a few pages,
Dreamy love may not abide,
Love of books for long rages.

A book is like a fond dream
held close in embrace,
Love rises like cream
If held apart in case.

A house without good books
be like body without soul,
So is life without love,
There’s no diff’rence at all.

Readers may well travel
without troubling their feet,
Love too transforms the two
to the world in spirit.

One might get lost in book
May as well find himself,
Two in love too may get lost,
never to find the lost self.

One lives and dies in a book
a thousand times,
Its seldom so in love,
Once lost, life never rhymes.

A journey of lifetime starts
With just a turn of book’s page,
The search ends once love’s found
at any stage, any age.
