Love Poem: Love Grows Here

Love Grows Here

Crack open my chest.
Brush the dust from its corners.
Beware of the shards of who I was,
Once before.
You will find scar after scar nestled togther on the surface,
Residue of who I once loved smear across the walls,
And abused words and empty promises scattered.
Like a junkyard,
My open chest will expose carnage of once perfect things.
Rummage through the wreckage.
Take what you need, I insist.
When you find what you desire, remove your hands,
But please don't run.
I may not grow flowers here,
But I grow something much more beautiful,
Much more powerful.
Love grows here.
Nourished with sincerity and voulnerability,
It grows strong and relentless.
You may not see it at first,
But here it grows.
Amoung all the wreckage and insecurities,
Love grows here.
Love grows here.
