Love Confession
A small beat,
A small bump,
A small skip,
And the heart
Is running at full speed
As you look at them
You can't help but have fear
And want to flee
But your feet hold still
Because you made up your mind
And today is the day
That you decided
To finally do this
So you walk up with
Courage and dignity intact
As you slip a letter
Into their hand
And walk away with
Utter confidence and a
Strong stride without sway
Tears dare to prickle
And come down your cheeks
But you tell yourself
To stop and carry
Onward anyways
But suddenly you hear
Footsteps as someone nears
Who could it be?
And you turn and see
Them jogging towards you
And your body almost
Fails to stay upright
As you fear for
The worst to happen
But you learn that
That wasn't needed
As they replied and
Asked to hold
Your hand
