Life With Albert

I was thinking of Albert tonight-
And though it's been eight and a-half years,
I can still see him reflected in starlight-
Love in his eyes--oh! I hope he can hear.

Albert was a good man-he made me feel love-
With him around, I never cared to roam,
I knew I would always be his dove-
So I would stay with him and make him a home.

I'm thinking tonight of the man whom I wed-
And though we were older, it didn't seem to matter-
To make his coffee each morning, I crawled out of bed,
And served him warm pancakes on a glass platter.

We played Bingo at Superbia twice each week-
He would call the numbers many a night,
I would look at my cards and up I would leap,
"BINGO! I've got my numbers just right!!"

Albert and I travelled and had lots of fun,
But in 1997, illness struck my mate-
Albert said "I love you so much Hon-"
Then he went to sleep and awoke at Heaven's gate.
