Love Poem: Lie Down With Me

Lie Down With Me

Come along with me, lover
Settle down
Find out where your heart belongs.
I'll give you a hint:
It's most comfortable buried
Deep inside of mine
It's all the things added up
Take a picture, save it love
Bury me inside your head
Don't be in love, go mad instead

Things you said to me that night
Still ringing in my ear
The second they left your mouth
Forever hanging in the air
Breath them, take a bite
Made me glow all night
Our breaths interwined
As we said goodbye for now
Silently, not out loud

Grab my hand, let me guide you through the dark
Arms stretched out
You're looking slightly helpless now
The spaces between your fingers are
Emblazoned on my chest
And maybe that's the reason you
Know me better than the rest.

Come lay down with me, lover
We can dream away our sorrows
Hidden in your arms I'll be
We can face the world tomorrow
You don't need a blanket, I'll be your cover
Our tongues colliding
As we're wrapped up in each other
The space between us is becoming nonexistent
You're taking me away from home
But I don't think I will miss it

The dictionary would define your eyes as simply destructive
And the energy surrounding us is becoming reproductive
I don't want to miss your face twenty years from now
So kiss me hard and lie down, lie down
