Letter To Santa

When I think of gifts from Christmas past.
I must admit, there have been many.
It is the warm feeling that you hope will last.
Until you think of those who did not receive any.

People either love Christmas or not, others don't care.
There are a lot of opinions in between.
Past experiences and sad times hard to share.
Those fortunate, hold close a childhood dream.

There is a gift that I have asked Santa to bring.
In a letter I hoped would find its way.
It is a most beautiful, wonderous thing.
Love is what I wish for, on this Christmas Day

It can't be wrapped or put under the tree.
Won't be topped with a big red bow.
It is a gift for the heart and it is free.
Held within, where it can be nurtured and grow.

I know I am asking for alot this year.
But I haven't made a list in quite a while.
I hope you see that I have been good, Santa Dear.
Please come, leave a wink, I'll leave a smile.
