Love Poem: Let's Go Back To Yesterday

Let's Go Back To Yesterday

There's a chill in tonight's air
That was never there before
I heard that he's back in town
And came knockin' on your door

Maybe Winter's comin' soon
Summer's gone and gone to stay
Am I bound to be alone
Have I seen the sun's last ray

I still love you and you must know
I'll need you more tomorrow
Let the past stay in its grave
Don't leave me with this sorrow

Still I feel this cold night air
Can I love it all away
Let's pretend he never came
And go back to yesterday

Still I feel this cold night air
Can I love it all away
Let's pretend he never came
And go back to yesterday

Let's pretend he never came
And go back to yesterday

Taken from Willie Nelson's "Help Me Make It Through The Night"
as follows:

Take the ribbon from your hair
Shake it loose and let it fall
 Playing soft against your skin
Like the shadows on the wall

Come and lay down by my side
 Till the early morning light
All I'm taking is your time
Help me make it through the night

I don't care if it's right or wrong
 I don't try to understand
 Let the devil take tomorrow
'Cause tonight I need a friend

Yesterday is dead and gone
 And tomorrow's out of sight
And it's sad to be alone
Help me make it through the night

Yesterday is dead and gone
 And tomorrow's out of sight
 I don't wanna be alone
Help me make it through the night

I don't wanna be alone
Help me make it through the night
