Love Poem: Just Another Addict

Just Another Addict

Black against the window panes,
Gold from the street lamp illuminating
his sleeping face,

I snuggle closer to him,
He turns toward the wall and whispers her name,

I stare at the ceiling and let his unconcious
transgression sting my insides,

I run my figures along the
rough ridges of his spinal cord,

I bury my head between his shoulder blades and breathe
in his scent-
Sweat mixed with Ivory soap.

Static pins and needles run up and down my body,
Goose bumps burst along my skin's surface,
My heart and breathe quickens,

I bite his neck and he stirs,
He turns over, reaching towards me,
Our mouths meet,

I wrap my legs around his body,
Arch my back as he sinks into me,

Just another addict ready for her fix.
