Tossing and Turning,
I can't get you out of my head.
How did I know that when you left,
that day for work it would,
Be the last day I would see you?
The dreams. The nightmares,
The blood and the crash.
I imagine it every day,
How scared you must have been?
How was I not with you that fateful day?
I feel you every day trying,
To tell me you’re ok.
I feel you behind me as I’m cooking,
Always making sure I don’t over salt the food.
At night looking up at the stars,
Like we’ve done so many times before,
I feel the kiss on my neck as you are,
Reassuring me to trust myself,
To breathe again,
To live again and,
Realize in my heart that you’re gone,
And I have to let you go.
It’s like you can hear me from the stars,
When I tell you as long as I know you’re here,
I can breathe and I can live,
So don’t tell me to let you go, I’m not ready.
I lay down in our bed ,
Crying,
Missing you,
Wanting you,
I feel your head on my shoulder,
As you say in a language only I can understand,
It’s Ok Baby, Just take your time,
I’ll always be here for you.
