It's All Humane

It’s All Humane

It’s cold at night and I’m all alone
They said that this is my new home.
The metal cage and cold stone floor
I wish that I could ope the door.

Don’t know what happened, it’s plain to see
The other day I was one of three.
The sky grew dark, and next I knew,
I looked around, and we were two.

A pretty girl came to see, what’s in the cage,
She looked at me.
Her little hands came through and plucked
The other pup, just his luck!

I’m scared in here, and cold and small,
I’d love to wander down the hall,
And maybe find a warm soft bed,
To lay my worried sleepy head.

I’m shaking now, I see the morn.
I guess I’m smaller than the norm.
My one eye shut I cannot see
I limp and shake terribly.

Oh wait here come some little feet
With metal straps and clinking sticks
He seems so cute he has a patch
And oh my gosh, he lifts the latch.

His hands are warm and gentle touch
I think he loves me very much!
He kissed me twice and hugged me tight
I don’t want to be here another night.

“Mommy please, I like this one,
I think we’ll have a lot of fun.”
“And now I know that God can see,
This puppy looks a lot like me.”

Two very happy small new friends
Limp and fall and try to run
A silent pack of bravery
I’ll love you, if you love me.
