It Was Only Then We Each Woke Hell Up and Then Knew

It Was Only Then We Each Woke Hell Up And Then Knew

A rose gave its fine fragrance and beauty for free
Smell that drove ones beautiful girlfriend to exclaim
My darling, these are ravishing and just for me
And to think I thought this, it was you to be tame.
She in that pale blue dress and that dolled up hair
With her famous smile and with figure so damn fine
My pals cried, "you get pretty ones, life aint fair"
All good ole Southern boys except Paul from the East
O' yes James, real bad apple ready to deceive
This world was a jewel ready for the taking
We were the dirty rascals hellbent on grabbing
With the gas petal on the floor no damn braking
But we each later got our own damn heart stabbing.

For truth is we had finally each got our due.
It was only then we each woke hell up and then knew.
