It Changed Everything

Autumn grieves for summer,
Whispering her anguish to the morning,
Sighing sorrow, a heart torn,
Sorrow born from the dying leaves,
Rustling in the winds who sing…

Melancholy, darkness rising, trembling,
With colors of summer’s demise,
Her passing, the collapse of her glowing
Grace, green and glorious…
Coats of summer on fetching oaks,
Birch and maple, all the fading folds
Yesterday stirring in the reminiscence.

Peeling back her prideful promise,
Breathless melodies, harmonizing with robins,
Wrens and chickadees, radiant, sparkling,
Distant dreams, fantasies in the breeze,
A memory, a color – faint as hope and home,
Planted on the thoughts, wise like light,
A candle in the dark – remembering the bond,
Between the moon and the stars,
Lights who reflect the heart, the soul,
Wisdom that continues to burn throughout the
Silence of a winter snow, breaking through
The hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping.

Autumn sighs her melancholic gaze,
Over the hills – through the shadows to reveal…
Talented truths, bent purposefully,
Realized just as the twilight set in and life,
Combined with the nostalgic whisper,
Tremulous groan, aching to be known,
Mysterious as yesterday’s song,
Resonating like the softest smile, the twinkling
Glowing in the eyes, gentle eyes…
A child following her mother’s form,
Through the moments, through the thoughts,
Into the time just before…

Winter is born and she clings to the knowing…
As the wings grow silent, the wind blowing,
Heaven whispers her name and she remembers,
She grows wiser because her thoughts expose,
All the drifting grace, the faith, the peace… that comes,
To those who remember the name, yes – just His name…
Can change everything…

Jesus, she sang… Jesus, she sang – praising, praising…
Praising together with the stars and moon, together
With the oaks and pines, together with summertime,
Together with the silent night… she sang, praising –
His name, His Holy Name… Jesus, she sang,
                 and it changed everything!
