Love Poem: Is It Goodbye

Is It Goodbye

I remember sitting here
and writing poems of my love
in your absence,
when you were dead to me
I cried, and thought I felt
true anger, resignation, grief,
but I threw down the moon for you
and grit my teeth, didn't care for the rock
just the want, want, wanted to please you,
I teased you, teased me, thought everything
out of acceptance is love, but knew nothing,
its not the first time, I fought a losing battle, had it out
with the Irish girl who knocked my tongue out
my mouth, kissed it and bit it off with silence,
I lost it, and now too my quiet battle
with madness ends the sanity of two wrongs
making right, decisions are difficult in the midst
of self-destruction, anything goes,
perhaps even "Goodbye".
