Love Poem: Inventive Love

Inventive Love

Tangled up inside my head, the thoughts of you, stitch and thread,

sewn together by each tied up seam,

A quilt of love wrapped around my dreams,

a pillow waiting for your head, left hand side of our marriage bed

an ocean keeps us far apart, yet distance forms strength in absent hearts,

through the window as I keep watch, yearning for your tender touch,

I stand undressed by moonlight shadow, where your command leads, I simply follow,

at the strike of twelve the clock demands, that before you naked I now stand,

the ritual we began long time past, to aid this love, to make it last,

words we speak are said in rhythm, his heart is mine and my heart given

Hear my love the words I say as angels carry each line away,

to settle gently in your ear, this my love keeps you ever near,

I reach out my hand through time and space, to so very almost touch your face,

as a tear falls to touch my lips, I know its your inventive goodnight kiss,

Each moment that we never share, is beautiful when I sense you there,

be safe whilst on this storm at sea,

and hurry my love, back home to me.
