Intoxicated Love

You offer me the glass And at first I decide to pass But your charm and sincerity Began to get the best of me And your wine went straight to my head At first your love tasted sweet But I couldn’t swallow your lies and deceit I mistook love for intoxication And was too drunk to see your true intentions Yet I remember every word you said You said you would give me paradise But the cost was too great of a price You convinced me forever you sought So reluctantly your game I bought Now my hopes and dreams are dead The glass in my hand had shattered And I lost everything that ever mattered The cuts on my hand were long and deep As I look for blood from my skin to seep My heart was the only thing that bled
