Love Poem: Into the Night

Into the Night

Phantom images that hie into the night,
cross paths of uncertainty with little light.
Under the lamp flame two souls meet,
spindly arms embrace in a love retreat.

Into the night with the lights out,
silhouettes two bodies fully devout.
One will stay; other must leave,
full of love they both will grieve.

A juvenile love so intensely pure,
will have to wait till they mature.
Hearts will long and maybe break,
time will pass and adults will wake.

Into the night two hearts slowly divide-
vowing to return and wed groom and bride.
