Into Shadows
Love torn away from a heart,
leaves a wound that doesn't heal.
As a painting that is torn apart,
it loses all its worth and appeal.
The wounded heart slips away,
love's gentle essence is gone.
Into shadows, where it will stay.
In total darkness, but it lives on.
The emptiness inside grows,
invading the lonely soul.
With nothing there, nothing shows.
The soul is broken, no longer whole.
To have a heart, that no longer has light.
And a soul that is fading away.
And there are no tomorrows in sight.
Into shadows, where I will stay.
