Love Poem: Into Place

Into Place

Too familiar had loneliness grown,
darkness in sunlight direction unknown.
Smiles too infrequently found on my face,
no sign that my life could soon fall into place.

How could you know how from so far and away
to illuminate darkness with things that you  say?
That a chill could be warmed by what only you knew
or that red, crying eyes would soon sparkle ..just cause of you.

Two souls so different yet exactly the same,
one wild as the other yet equally tame.
A stormy, rough ending was predicted by some,
but we trusted in love and weathered all that would come.

With each stumbling block seemingly placed in our path,
new strength emerged once the dust settled after the wrath.

Eruptions of passion, emotional flurries,
loves natural wonders bring both beauty and worries.

Hearts wrapped up to protect them like coats in the rain,
if too heavily layered prove to be all in vain.

Puddles must be stepped in, colds will be caught
lifes detours are taken, loves fights must be fought.

The risk of a loss sets the value of what could be won,
I'm dying to jump in, my instincts say run.

What was never in sight is now part of me so, that while I didnt see it coming, I now can't let go.

Each page we've co-written is one I'd never erase,
like each word in a poem, our love fell into place.
