Love Poem: Insanity and Firearms

Insanity and Firearms

Too late to chart the Zodiac,
paint the doors and windows black,
buried memories coming back,
cooking cocaine, making crack.

Poison love that drove them mad,
good intentions all gone bad,
tender hearts now ironclad,
kin that wore the Douglas plaid.

Darkness overpowers light,
daylight must succumb to night,
pigments blackened blinding sight,
weary souls give up the fight.

Though I strove to do no harm,
(insanity and firearms)
curse dressed up in Southern charm,
no one heard the shrill alarm.

One by one my victims fall,
my love killed them, one and all,
lined them up against the wall,
my presence cast a deadly pall.
