Innocence Lost

His eyes were full of lust
images for one to young to see
tiktok tiktok tiktok
all his time consumed watching, wanting
satisfied himself, no need for others
friendless, his mother works and works
alone in his small room at the birth of spring
dark except for the light of his phone
glowing and showing things that rot his brain
he never goes out, doesn't eat much
wants no nourishment but to feed
feed on the hunger of sicken desires
what it shows is not love
what it teaches never love
what it is disease.

Easter Sunday sermon and Lacey dress her fineness
she was good for weeks, no sweets or easy comforts
Now the celebration of the Savior rising, He conquered
death and through faith by believing you have eternal life.
After service on the church lawn the children run and scatter
hunting for hidden eggs and sweets to fill their baskets
Lots of smiles with friends and family, the whole congregation
joyful and pleasant on a sunny afternoon.
Real is the precious interaction with each other
conversations and being friendly, That is life
Jesus loves the little children, protect them and let them be children.
Where is the innocence of childhood? the wonder of being?
Did it get swallowed by the luring light of technology...
