Love Poem: Inadequacy

Inadequacy

One soul in a pool of millions,
Dreary pool with a spiraling drain.
My spirit has fallen into conformity;
United by wasted lives--
Society draining us like dirty water.
We are pathetic, deserve no empathy.
The slippery marble drains our souls,
I am one in millions.
Unable to escape the dark unknown abyss.
Except
Someone carefully scrutinized my struggle.
Gingerly afraid to touch any of the wasted entities,
Forming like one; a spinning torque down the hole,
You selected me; so small, hopeless, inadequate,
To be free-- to discover my destiny.
How could you when I was attached to a thread?
Tangled and tied in knots with millions of other threads?
Carefully scrutinized by you,
Admired? How peculiar.
Maybe it's time I feel loved.
Thank you for rescuing me.
From condemnation,
From inadequacy,
From never meeting you.
