Love Poem: In the Zone

In the Zone

If we could some how get in the zone,
this game we could possibly own.

Forth quarter and only minutes remain,
nine points we must somehow obtain.

Our quarterback is poised and ready to go,
here’s the snap and a quick throw.

Intended for the wide receiver but just past,
guess he wasn’t running nearly that fast.

Second down and the game clock is ticking away,
hurry up and pick a play.

The quarterback looks but is on the run,
and number of open receivers is none.

Oh but wait there’s a running back,
so he must try and avoid the sack.

Look at that long “Hail Mary” soar,
this will be our only chance to score.

He jumps and it’s in his hands,
luckily the endzone is where he lands.

What a great athletic feat,
hopefully our offensive luck will repeat.

Now we must create a diversion,
so we can get the two-point conversion.

We can almost expect the defense to rush,
for our comeback hopes they would like to flush.

The quarterback they tried to seize,
while the halfback ran it in with ease.

Seems our big time plan worked well,
for the fake passing play they easily fell.

What an unforeseen comeback
we made, all because of how great everyone played.

Who would have believed or known,
that we could get in the zone.
