In the Silent Fire of Burning Love

The silent echoes are like quiet winds;
          you can feel them but
you can’t hear them. You can feel them
          but you can’t see them.

When your love abandoned my heart,
          it filled itself with your
love’s flowing spirit; fueling my heart like
          winds fuel a sailing fire.

Indeed, the fire that burns is always hot
          and cooling water
          is no match for the burn.
True love is as hot burning fire—flaming!

Remember come on baby light my fire?
          You don’t go about making
          love; love is.
What’s love got to do with it? Love is it!

True love is beyond all fear and doubting
          and always seeks
          the nourishing of self
as fire-seeking fuel to keep on burning hot.

Let not your love be as the fire of burning hell;
          rather let it/love be
          as heaven’s sunshine:
As John’s gospel love; as John’s love supreme.

          Yes indeed, something
          gotta hold on me;
          and it’s got to be love.
