Love Poem: In the Now

In the Now

I've learned many lessons in this life
The most important is that if we truly love someone, we must love ourself first
By loving ourself, we grow and we learn
We won't wait for them if we love someone
To wait is to imply a halt, a standstill
I can't just sit on the sidelines while you are the only one moving forward
Therefore my love, if one day we cross paths again
It will be as two evolved people who have been living our lives, learning the necessary lessons and staying open to the possibilities that our journey brings us,
I will not wait for you, but I will not attempt to replace you either
By enjoying my life as is, by being happy with who I am and what I have\
Yet, I won't be closed to opportunities too as I don't know what the Universe has in store for me
If a man steps into the open room in my heart, who makes me forget all about you,
Then it was meant to be.
