In the Market For Love

To think you’re “in love” is to court disappointment,
For Love you are seeking can never be found,
To be “free” in the market for love is the answer,
Soul open to love? Well, now that’s quite profound.

No human can ever keep love in his pocket,
No cage or nutrition block Love’s early death,
And in fact in your search for Love you are quite hopeless,
With heart prone to murder like Lady Macbeth.

True Love when it finds you has infinite value,
Love bought is not worth much, no more than you paid,
And the fact you pay nothing suggests it’s forever,
But if it is not, you still make lemonade.

So where did world come from that you find yourself in?
There’re so many ways you can feather your nest,
Please don’t take all for granted that happened before you,
Who labored in Love so that you might find rest?

And what is the currency you have to offer
If not the same thoughtfulness you’ve found in kind?
Its just yours, no condition, the life you’ve been given,
So why should you stagger like beggar that’s blind?

The proof you are loved is in fact your existence,
The proof that you love is that you’ve learned to serve,
And your doing so marks you as child of Creator,
Christ’s promise, that all men are judged on a curve.
