By reminiscing about our longlost past I feel a sudden ease
By laughing at our darling days I encounter newfound peace
By remembering your love for me I hold your memory dear
For every breath you could not take I cry a thousand tears
And every stormy night we had I wish I had kept a book
Your very memory makes me weep for your mere look
I recall the day you took your last breath
And still shake my head and fret
Even though the years have melted your warmth still lingers here
Your every smile your every word is still captured for me so near
For every time I see your son I see the past gone by
And for every second you spent with me I wish they did not fly
Yet your very memory still captures my heart
Although some time ago you did depart
Nine years ago to be exact you left us alone forever
Your son will turn eleven this year, growing up I fear
