Love Poem: In Memory

In Memory

I’m terrified that everything I have ever loved will vanish
So I’ll make these memories
Memories that never die
Even when forgotten
They are still alive
So you can always be with me and I with you
We won’t ever be alone.

Life is disappointing
An endless battle within
And I keep dodging these bullets to stay alive
I must survive
I have something to live for
If I remember you
The rest of the world will disappear
And it will be just you and me
It makes everything else seem less bad.

I’m so fortunate
I had you
For one brief moment I had you
I cannot curse the fates for taking away that moment
When I’m happy to remember a brief second
For the rest of my life.

The stars will fade
And the moon will fall
But you and me
We are survivors
Even when separated
Our hearts stay close
When there is nothing left
Everyone else is gone
You’re still with me
And I have everything.

Even on the darkest of nights
You scare away the shadows
So I can sleep peacefully
I can dream peacefully
And everyone would be of you
I could dream forever.

This world is full of evil
They come and they kill
But they cannot take away our love
We walk together hand in hand
And I know that everything will be okay
As long as we are together.

I’m no longer afraid that you’ll disappear
I always have these memories
And fate can’t take that away
You’re always here with me
Always by my side
I feel your presence
And I can’t help but smile
I know you’re here
And I won’t ever forget you.
