Love Poem: In Love We Awake

In Love We Awake

Rain falls softly
on our pillows of earthen glade
Blanketing us with misty dew
that is heavenly made
And the wetness of our bodies
is warmed by the fire in our souls
We made love under the moonlight,
now again under dawn's rainbow
Last night when I went to sleep,
I made love to you in my dreams
This morning when I opened my eyes,
we were showered by prismatic sunbeams
And I wondered:
did I wake up in a dream,
a dream that will never end
With the rain gently falling on our skin,
as we make love again and again
Cleansing us from our fears,
purifying our hearts ...
adding to us more years
And I wondered more:
should I go to sleep again,
would this dream come to an end
Will the sunshine fade away,
and this blueness turn to gray
Then with a sweet kiss,
in my dream you spoke to me
and whispered love's reverie
Saying more love we shall make ...
forever ...
in love we awake
