Love Poem: In Case You Asked

In Case You Asked

In case you asked,
Or wonder, or think about it
Yes, I think of you
And wondered what should have been
Did the lion lie down with the lamb

Your golden mane
Still gorgeously mesmerized me
I did not see
That I had to die
So you go on pretending
You knew how to live
Like straw in every stall
And manger of world

I should hate for it
Hate you real badly
For straw is hay to me
Without a mother's milk
And stale urine
Did not suffice
In stench of scent
But I always forgive

Mother told me
Forgiveness
Is the truest sign of love
But I believe
It is time
When after so long
The moment does not exist
When I with longing
Pushed aside by pride and fear
Tremble still your voice to hear
I believe it is time
That tells the real truth
That always
I love you.
