Love Poem: In Another Time

In Another Time

In another time and in another place,
I would never have seen your face.
Never have fallen in love on the spot.
You are the one I would have forgot.

But I gave you access to the inner me.
Let you in fact, feast on me.
You ate me up then spat me out.
Left me empty, devoid of my heart.

Yet on reflection, in fact I got to see
and feel what true love must be.
The aching, the yearning, the touch
of your lips on mine. The divine

feeling of mutual bliss in a simple kiss.
Do I regret? I would live again that time
and the terrible heartache that was mine.
To be once again two as one.

To enjoy once more all the fun.
We shared a love hard to define.
When I was yours and you were mine.
No other man yet has discovered that trove.

Buried too deep and still in repose.
