Love Poem: Images of Broken Hearts

Images of Broken Hearts

Dreams fall from the highest heights

Collapsing without a sound in the dark of the night

Shuddering and shaking, their broken bodies bleed

The very essence of life's nuturing seed

Images of broken hearts lure me in false pretense

Their twisted words do their best to convince

Hidden meanings to emerge from murky waters cold and deep

You know, the queit spots where the secrets we keep

Thinly veiled and held close to the breast

They'd be far better off free, but we hold them there none the less

Cruelties handed out, pain received with the ease of a casual kiss

Entertainment surreal, life sublime, there's no where to turn in the fury of

Midnight's hiss
