If Only I Could

In the whispering breeze I hear the birds sing
for you as the sunburst sky flushes your face.
How endearingly attractive you are then to me,
mesmerized I know, the clue you do not find.

After sullen night melts, in your garden I find me
sparkle as the opalescent pearl of rare ecstasy,
like a dew drop on the patina of your luring rose.
My fulfilled feeling of longing you do not know.

From the eternity I get the time I part with you,
as my desire flares like the blazing sunrise sky,
I am keen to see the day my dream come true,
your shadow entwines mine, you do not discern.

My fervor flies to the blue firmament of your eyes,
the charming nest I build to become our haven.
When in the storm I fondly shelter my love there,
how tensely forlorn it is, you do not perceive.

The sound of your voice in silent air of my yearning
echoes with melody in the void of my lonely heart.
How complete I am when it delights me to the full
to get the feeling of togetherness, you do not sense.

When you leave tracing the trail of melting mirage,
I feel deserted like desolate sands in the dry dune.
How despondently my pent-up words ‘I need you’
I say to me with depressing despair, you do not hear.

Your essence stays within me as an indelible image,
fused with the darkness of the abyss within my soul.
How many candles my love has lighted there for you,
I would be pining to tell you forever, if only I could.
