I Saw Love In The Meadow

In The meadow

Wait ‘til the sun has cooled
And taken it’s familiar place
In the summer sky, in linen white,
Cut below the knee, you float
Across the rush-filled meadow,
Sandals in either hand,
Swinging, kicking out, the broadest smile,
Beauty laid bare.
Your voice echoes of laughter
As the trees gently sway in rhythm
With your innocence,
The lightest of touches, of tip-toes,
Nature springs skyward,
Your essence whispered in dreams
And other realms.
The soft paleness of your skin
Turns another shade of pink
As Nature blushes at her creation
And your beauty is beyond compare.
Wide, open green eyes,
Seek nothing more, for love
Has found a home,
Somewhere to call our own.
This love is truly love.
For I saw it in the meadow.
