Love Poem: I Let It Slip Away

I Let It Slip Away

I let it slip away beyond my perceptive reach,
like the dislodged grain of the memory sand.
The dragging ebb of discontent carried it far
into the dismal depth of somber sea of oblivion.

The splendorous realm of my fervent heart
twinkled with the tinsels of the argentine night,
where your glamour gleamed with enticing tinge,
suffused with the sequins of the mesmeric moon.

I felt entranced the swathing touch so tempting
of the captivating aura of your intangible charisma,
but you glided away out of my spellbound sight,
like the autumn cloud across my sky of dream.

In verdant vale in the rhythm of my vibrant heart,
your footprints disappeared in my pining plateau,
beyond the turquoise trail of lingering longing,
as I wandered chasing the mirage going nowhere.

Splitting open the rough rocky ledge of your garden,
a sapling grew at the edge of the unwalked pathway.
A bud bloomed unnoticed with the color of spring
within my heart like the alluring flower called love.

You drifted past me on the wings of zooming zephyr,
blowing a sensuous storm of fervor through me.
The ruffled petals flew away from the caring cleft
of my heart to the obscure recess of wilderness.

From the ebony edge of the dense night of despair,
storm clouds surged with thunders of tearing strife,
splintered my sky once an epitome of adoration,
the flakes of dream dispersed in debris slid away.

You celebrated your birthday every year with me,
the joy like a leaf of memory drifted away in the wind.
Your birthday came again, but this leaf didn’t return,
for it was too far gone from me, I let it slip away.
