Love Poem: I Let It Slip Away

I Let It Slip Away

I let it slip away,
Like a feather in the wind.
I didn't hold on tight enough,
And now it's gone again.

I loved him with a passion,
That burned deep within my soul.
But I couldn't make him stay,
And now I'm all alone.

I thought that love would conquer all,
And we'd be together forevermore.
But he had other plans in mind,
And I was left to pick up the pieces on the floor.

I cried myself to sleep each night,
Wishing he would come back to me.
But it was just a hopeless dream,
And now I know it was never meant to be.

I let it slip away,
And now I can't go back.
The memories haunt me every day,
And my heart is under attack.

I tried to move on with my life,
And find someone new to love.
But nobody can compare to him,
And he's the only one I'm thinking of.

I let it slip away,
And now I'm paying the price.
My heart is shattered into pieces,
And I'm left with this endless strife.

I wish I could turn back time,
And hold onto him so tight.
But now all I have is regret,
And a heart that's lost its light.

So here I am, alone and broken,
With nothing left to do.
I let it slip away from me,
And now I'm feeling so blue.
