I Could Not See Past My Nose
Lord, I think I pretty much have tried it all,
But for whatever reason You were always there to pick me up whenever I would stumble and
cushioned the fall.
And I don’t understand all the love You have always shown,
You have always been that light in the darkness that pulls me back from harm, lurking there
in the unknown.
You have never given up on me, in spite of the things I’ve done,
You just stood there silently as I had my so called fun.
And why I struggled so, I do not know,
You were always there to catch me, I just had to let go.
I just had to find out for myself, what I knew all along was the best,
In my own sick way I had to put Your love to the test.
Whether it was stubbornness or immaturity I now understand,
You were always there with out stretched arms and a love so grand.
Now that I’m older I really can see,
How many times You really did carry me.
The only thing I am sorry for now is it took me so long,
To accept the love You offered and be where I belong.
