Love Poem: Goodbye

Goodbye

What’s found now hangs as my own halved for you,
Written at twelve by hands soon under six,
Unwound aware when would life’s clock subdue,
Clutching now tightly this last crucifix;
For when sins unremembered yours found cross,
Heaven declared for those health should submit,
Then started ends of our summer-love lost
Where more that was promised time won’t permit;
Yet, for salvation and gratitude held,
Take these descriptions told relished all while
Cancerous anguish forged quick and compelled
To steal peace within me brought by your smile;
  Remember fondly love’s time before tears,
  Walk with me Marci, once more through our years.
