Girl's Poker Night

So it is Thursday night again that
 time when I’m left alone.
There’s just me and the telly,
Some food in my belly
I see you’re wearing that dress with the rhinestone.

Off you go my sweet and have fun
as you do and take care.
I’ll take the pleasure that’s mine
From this bottle of wine
On the floor by my wheelchair.

Don’t lose the house on a turn of a card
Don’t gamble your life away.
Like I did one night
When I chance’d a red light
I can never forget that day.

I gambled a life while you risk a night.
I lost and most times you win.
That life was not mine
But a young Caroline
Lost hers before it could begin.

Now that I’m legless, a body all crushed
I can’t join in as I might
A night playing stud
With Paula Peter and Bud
Having fun on your girl’s poker night.
