Love Poem: Fugazi Au

Fugazi Au

Don't fall in love with a compulsive gambler
Every vow made, every promise told
is all fake
It's fugazi,
it's fool's gold

Don't give your heart to a blackjack kamikaze
He'll deal you nothing but empty words
that are all fake
All fugazi

A U,
don't be a fool
Why are you digging for gold
with the wrong tool?
Don't let fugazi orgasms
make a fool out of you

Don't ally yourself with a poker-face, casino card-carrying Nazi
He'll burn you with his feckless ways ---
just a fake dream sold
It's all fugazi,
it's all fool's gold

A U,
don't be a fool
Stop building your hopes
on a house of cards
Don't let fugazi gold ropes
make a fool out of you

Don't let your life get tied down
on the real bad side of town
Only to find him walking around
with his head in the chest
of a woman with fake breasts
Then you'll know that it was all fugazi:
after the wedding bells toll,
and you're given a band of fool's gold

This poem was inspired by the talented poetess, Paloma P.
She liked using the word "fugazi" in one of her poems
I thought she made use of the word rather well
