Love Poem: From Across the Sea

From Across the Sea

I hear you calling from across the sea.
Calling my name and beckoning me.
Through the mist I see your face
  waiting in that lonely place.
Your eyes so patient and kind,
  you're always on my mind.
Hands clutched in prayer for my return,
you wait for me there and my eyes burn.

REFRAIN:
Worry not for me, Dear,
  for I'll come back
with a ring of gold and a red Cadillac,
with a ring of gold and a red Cadillac.

I'll surround you with flowers and milky-white pearls
because you are the best of all girls.
I will crown you with rubies,
I will crown you with rubies
because they stand for true love.
You're the one I dream of.
And when in my hands your hands I hold,
I'll say sweet things to no one I've told.

REFRAIN:
Worry not for me, Dear,
  for I'll come back
with a ring of gold and a red Cadillac,
with a ring of gold and a red Cadillac.
