Friend

Listen to a need, the sound bleeds Through the past, the yearning Silence falls heavy, gentle – it feeds On the affection, passions burning Will the heart listen, in giving – a gift Serene like the silence, a light, hope Abiding on the kindness, meant to lift Grace, affection – feelings who cope Neighbors, beggars, lost in the shadows Darkness rising, yet there are fireflies Glistening, reflecting love that arose From the grave – so the spirit never dies Will this peace He stirred, the grace He brought to life when He came down From the cross, reassuring He would erase The fears and tears, rewarding a crown… To those who listen to His compassion, The affection that reminds us we are loved Beyond doubts, despite the latest fashion We are His children, the ones He calls beloved John 15:13 (KJV) - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
