Love Poem: Flowered Forestry

Flowered Forestry

And so they go zap zooming
Through the Summer rain drops
Pausing under wider sun flower leaves
to flicker off the heavier of water
glistening emerald ruby glints of light
That fill a nearby watcher with delight

Flickering like faerie through the stems and stalks
With all the yellow finches hanging upside down
On flower heads they planted here last season
Simply pecking in to let the seeds fall down
In a sky high forest fed by koi beside their pond
That rooted where she cleaned and dumped the filter
To burst in blooming clumps on trunks instead of stalks

It's not hard to love this witch without a wand
